Final update: Tammy reached out to me and helped me find a resolution. There was a severe miscommunication that was not on alliance but reflected on the dealership during the purchase of the vehicle when it came to warranties. I’m glad Tammy understands the importance of customers feeling heard through issues like this and I feel a lot more confident in doing business with alliance on the future.
After my recent experience with alliance I’m going to never do business with them ever again. This is going to be long as I want to be detailed. I’ve had an auto loan with them for about two years. I’ve never made a late payment on anything in my entire life including this car loan. The past couple years I’ve found myself in a financial struggle and am trying to crawl out of it by paying off my debt and wanted to look into refinancing the loan into a lower payment to be able to chip away at the principal faster. I don’t want to name the lady I sat down with because she was nice and my frustration is with the bank itself and not her. She explained to me that my interest rate would more than double if I were to refinance my loan which would make my monthly payment go down less than $10… she explained she could possibly reach out to the supervisor and see if we could keep my current rate and restructure the loan to redistribute the payments over the same months my loan now was to lower the monthly payment by approx $100. I asked her about the extended warranty I had with them and possibly wanted to cancel it as I don’t see a need for it anymore and when she tried to pull it up she could see where I was charged for the $6k extended warranty on my loan but couldn’t find any documentation about the warranty going into effect when I made my first payment 22 months ago. That was extremely concerning considering the cost of the warranty that I may have never actually had coverage for something I paid for. I was adamant at signing that the loan included gap coverage and an extended warranty. I had gone in around 4:30 on Friday and she said since it was almost time to close she wouldn’t be able to call anyone until Monday. I asked what would happen if they never put the warranty into effect and she said they would give me a partial refund. That part was absolutely infuriating. A partial refund for something I never received?! Needless to say I’m extremely frustrated with everything about my loan. I know the woman I was speaking with wasn’t the one to write up my loan but whoever did possibly never started my warranty. What would have happened if something went wrong with my car? I would’ve been SOL? As a member I expect to be able to go in and have all my documentation available and the fact there’s no documentation available to show where the $6k went I am genuinely convinced I was charged for something y’all failed to enroll me in. The most frustrating part is it feels like they’re more on the car sales business seeing how many repos they have for sale at every bank location. Then when a member comes in trying to do the right thing to turn their financial situation around that has a history of never missing a payment they want to screw them over by doubling their interest rate? Do they actually want their members to succeed in life or do they prefer profit over people? I would absolutely prefer a supervisor or someone higher up reaching out and giving me some answers because unless this is resolved I will absolutely never be doing business with this financial institution ever again. I’m convinced the warranty was never put in place and extending till Monday is a way to try and make it seem like the warranty has been in effect and everything’s fine. Regardless unless this is handled I’m done with this place.
Updating to say no one ever reached out when they said they would so I ended up having to call in and request a supervisor or someone who could actually get me answers. Just reiterated the fact they seem to not care about their customers. Can’t wait for my refinance to go through elsewhere to stop doing all business with them.
