The location of the bar is convenient, it is next to the Yellow MTA subway station 49th street. The outdoor dining area is crowded, but there is a singer singing there, which makes the atmosphere grand. There are 2 floors in the bar, and there is a bar area and catering area. I visited the bar area. The finger food are nice, and the price is reasonable at that area. The bar area usually has 2-3 groups of people gathering.

I accidentally came into this theater looking for the nondescript one next door, the first time. I was a little disappointed I was in the wrong place. Playwrights Horizons is exactly what I expect a modern theater to look like.

I didn't take pictures of the lobby, silly me, but it's quite nice. The second floor is a half floor so you're basically in a cathedral of a theater. There's concessions center rear and seating along the left.
The restrooms are downstairs and just how I like them. Like the ones in the airport where you don't have to touch a door on your way out.
There's a freight sized elevator so it's ADA accessible.

I was seated in Row E Seat 5. From the seating chart you can see that I will be extremely biased about the leg room. God bless Row E! I didn't even need to get up for the Intermission!
The seats are nicely padded and roomy.

The sound was very good. The "I'm not sure if the actors are miked or not" good.
The staging was well done though the foreshortening may have made the stage look smaller than it is. I'd need to see a different production in order to tell.
Right now "Indian Summer" is playing. I'd be remiss if I didn't write a review of it. It was very funny, yet with a melancholy ending. Good stuff.

I really hope I'm able to see another play here in the future. It's a lovely space.

Main stage is sized just right- about 200 seats. Almost every production is first rate.

It’s an extremely small theater. So if something happens to a cast or crew member, your show will be canceled. Like mine was 5 minutes before curtain. And if you flew to NYC just to see this show, you will be out $1000 in flight/hotel and out of luck. So be careful, you can get burned by the small theater. I’ve been told by many people this was their favorite show of the year and I was so excited to see it. But now I’ll probably never know because I don’t live in New York and I don’t know when I’ll have the money to go back.

I have long been a subscriber to the entire season of Playwrights Horizon and it always provides well produced and provocative plays. It is "a playwrights" theater company. Tonight's play by Craig Lucas, I WAS MOST ALIVE WITH YOU was super.

We had a terrible experience at this theatre. They are absolute sharks. We (three young people) came in to get tickets. The lady at the ticket booth tells us the only tickets available cost $90 with fees. 3 minutes later we learned from another visitor that students (which two of our group were) can enter for $10, and under 35 year olds for $30. They did not inform us about these cheaper options and refused to refund our tickets when we came back 3 minutes later asking for the cheaper options. They took almost $300 from our low-income group when we should have paid <$50 alltogether. They ruined our night, and our budgets for the month. This is not the progressive place it tries to present itself as.

They wasted my weekend for last-minute cancellation of the show. Just speechless…. Never gonna come again. A reminder for anyone who wants to come here for a show, maybe just remember to double check beforehand they won’t cancel the show for no reason! Don’t waste your time!!!! And the staff is unbelievably rude. Just don’t understand why ?

Playwrights Horizons should be a compulsory stop for everyone who loves the theatre. You actually feel you are a member of the cast. Writing is superb! Production outstanding! Set design unbelievable! Great actors! Phenomenal seats no matter where ..............
