My brother had a procedure done last week, It went very well. He has been going to the VA Hospital for over 30 years. They been talking very good car of him. I are breakfast while I was there, it was ok a lot of variety to choose from which was good. But the eggs was liquid process eggs not shell eggs and the turkey sausage was very process. The grits and hash browns were ok. My recommendation for them if they read this go with Williams, Jimmy dean or Tennessee pride sausage they will taste better. And use real shell eggs please. Other than that the workers in the restaurant was nice and friendly and the restaurant very clean.

In general this is a really good facility. After the pandemic there is a understaffed over booked kind of feeling but that is at every medical facility. I'm satisfied with my medical care. The Lt. Col. Luke Weathers Jr. VA is always changing. They have built a new parking garage to address the parking issues. They have volunteers riding around in carts to give you a lift. Being disabled, that is a plus. It's a learning hospital so there are a lot of up and coming UT doctors there. I am truly blessed to have such good medical care. If you want to see the price of freedom...Come pay a visit to the Lt. Col. Luke Weathers Jr. VA Medical Center. You will see true patriots. God Bless them all.

Horrible place for veterans. Entering the building no one speaks or smiles in the lobby. 5th floor surgery nurses wouldn't speak and was complaining amongst each other.
After surgery my loved one was unable to get any medicine because they forgot to put in an order. Had to wait hours for the doctor to sign off. The night staff nurses was not informed of daily medication and stated they couldn't issue it.
As a case manager who have had to accompany several veterans through out the years this hospital never fails to provide poor service to men and women who have served our country.
The hospital needs to be investigated outside of Memphis employees.

I called in September to update my contact information. It is now December 17th and my Neurologist told me they have been trying to contact me since November on a needed procedure. From the Emergency room to the incompetent employees answering the phones... Horrible. Hire people that have graduated highschool and know how to navigate a system.

Zero stars.

Had there been an option for zero stars, that’s exactly what you would have gotten. Someone I love and is extremely important to me who is 87 years old and has had pneumonia and COVID. He has been here for a week now and he has had the absolute worst care in the world. The doctors have been great but the care staff on the 4th floor are the laziest and most worthless humans on planet earth. His potty chair hasn’t been emptied this am. He used it around 6 this morning and it is now 12:22. He hasn’t had 1 single bed bath in 7 days and when he calls for help it’s over an hour before anyone comes, or longer. He called me at 9 this morning saying he was being discharged today so I came up here, well 3 and a half hours later and he’s still here. I will tell you one damn thing, if he EVER has to go to the hospital again, I will NOT bring him here and I don’t care. The nurse just walked in here and said they still haven’t put in discharge papers and he is beyond livid. This is the sorriest place on earth. He is fixing to walk out AMA. Also, he spent literally 2 days in the ER before they ever moved him to a room. Then to make it worse, once in the ER, he was put back out in the waiting area with other people and HE HAD COVID!!!!!

Just got home from taking my dad to an appointment with optometry. His appointment was at 11 AM and we had to wait until 2 PM for him to be seen by the doctor, just as dozens of other patients did. My dad is 72 and most of the vets waiting 3+ hours to be seen were of similar ages, if not older. I'm extremely grateful for those who chose to work at the VA and provide quality care, but our senior citizen vets deserve better. One staff member told us there were 75 patients schedule today with limited staff to see them. I hope staffing levels improve so wait times decrease. Please do better.

Absolutely worthless VA care and the community can not get their act together have lost 4 referrals now for me or just send me to completely wrong appointments to get it off their list. When you call and want a follow up you get cussed at for wanting answers. This is unacceptable!
