Helping the homeless population in Albuquerque? This shelter needs more bus scheduling to its location 20 miles Northwest of the city.

This facility used to be a jail. And it still has that jail feeling & atmosphere.

I have never seen such an orderly manner, with so many coming in nightly. The place is comfortable, clean those living, or staying, there are able to come in from the cold. The staff is exceptional and kind. Pick-ups are made at Coronado Part (3rd and I-40) and drop-off at the same location.

Me myself I'm happy with the shelter. It's what I make it not everyone is use to rules. The staff is very interesting and the person who took on the huge responsibility has come along way to help his people of races. Thanks to governer of Burque and of course Carlos Sanchez. Who makes temporary home for me. Much gratitude to all worker's of shelter.

When I was homeless and struggling with my addiction. The staff here showed kindness and compassion to me and those who are struggling with addiction issues, mental illnesses, and many other issues. These kind souls don't have to give their time to help those who want and need help. Thank you so much I am almost 4 years clean from heroin, methamphetamine and needles. I am not homeless any more and I am happy today but I swear if it truly wasn't for the kindness from these shelters for the homeless in Albuquerque NM I would not have had the want to clean my life up. I don't even smoke cigarettes anymore. God bless you all. I would love to give back if your shelter is looking for volunteers.
The jail photo was March 7, 2017
The other photo is me from the other day 2021.
3 months away from 4 years. UPDATE,
I made it to my 4 years now working to 5 years I will always bring my best.

There is transportation to the shelter. To get transportation to the shelter. You will need to go to Cornado Park 301 McKnight Ave NW, Albuquerque, NM 87102 between 3pm-7pm. I believe a bus will pick you up from there to take you to the shelter but i was unable to get that information confirmed. I just called the shelter to get basic information about getting help. It's was very hard for me to get the info I needed in order to get the help they offer. The information I have given here was given to me by Antonio. He said he is the head supervisor of the shelter. When people are in time of need and have the courage to even call for help then that's what they should be getting , help...The shelter needs Someone there who can give information over the phone when someone does call in time of need. That was not my experience when I called.

With many staff working in different places/sections, we've got our clothes, a bag, books, Many different Snacks, A lot was STOLEN!! from us when we trusted to return to back to our personal items!! We've Never got our Items back and the Young Staff Worker's Don't Follow with the time and Rules, because a family that lived in section #16 higher, that were living close to the Shower area took ADVANTAGE OF TIME!!! AND YOUNG STAFF MEMBERS were Just Doing Facial removal of their Eye Brow's in the office!! They, Accept You, So they Can Steal your Important stuff, items!! A Very UNFRIENDLY place!!
