Super racists in this place. Don’t leave reviews for anything but had to for Cheshire dmv. Don’t know if the woman was the driving instructor but super racists against non citizens. Didn’t even had the chance to take the exam because of my language. Do not go here, this place should be investigated. Never had a person walk off on me like that. Very unprofessional

I think they are outright the most disagreeable and angry collection of people I have ever have the misfortune of meeting. I had to do the theory test twice at the Cheshire center because they claimed some sort of uncertainty with immigration on the first try. Now I'm having to reschedule the road test for the third time (!) because my driver's window wouldn't go down. The examiner refused to make my life easier and tell me the instruction through an open door, which were essentially toot horn / switch headlights on and off.It is a DRIVING test, not an open your window test. Sit in the bloody seat and watch me drive ! Can't believe I have yet to reschedule it because of some electrical malfunction. The website is the worst and I expect the next availability to be months from now. Been driving for 30 + years, it seems like it will take just as long to get a license here.

Disappointed with my experience at this DMV location today. The staff were uncaring and refused to hear my reason for making the appointment. I had all documents in order. Once, a staff member walked away from me while I was talking; my indoor voice is normal. A different team member approached-again, as if to help-but this employee merely parroted the previous employee's negative stance without listening to my explanation. This was a full-on complete waste of time and public resources. Highly recommend finding another DMV somewhere else so that you do not have to deal with this frustration.

I took my road test at this location and it was a pleasant experience. The instructor I had was very nice. Her instructions were very straight forward and easy to follow. The process from checking in, vehicle inspection, road test process and end of road test was very organized, and well structured. The security guard was very friendly and very aware of all the drivers, visitors, instructors to ensure the area was ran smoothly with no issues. I would highly recommend this location for the road test.

Most of the DMV depends on driving instructor. I appreciate one person John Hamzy cheshire DMV, he is one of the nice person remove anxiety and stress by his smiling face and friendly behavior make the drivers more confident. And I believe the instructor behavior is more important.@john Hamzy. I prefer cheshir DMV and not recommend DMV Hamden.

That the worst place in the world, personal are racists, white woman was good to me till the moment she realized I'm not American, after that she turned in the rudest person in the world, she said that I'm required to bring documents that doesn't even exist, when I said that in the check list no writing about this document, she tried to find it in the check list but there was nothing, she said that we still required to bring it and cancel my test

The Cheshire DMV seems very different than other DMV’S. Being a smaller facility , it seems to create a personal environment. I know many people who have utilized the services there and they seem very happy.
People who claim employees are racist are distorting their experience and misleading others. The road agents are not instructors, rather observers evaluating your driving skills. If someone has repeated fails on their road tests, it’s certainly not for small mistakes. Rather, it’s for critical skills, which are so important for safe driving. How many times did you fail, anyway? You mentioned a couple of times.... Seems to be a lot more than your telling people? So glad they are keeping the roads safe. It seems leaving the window open during road tests has nothing to do with your driving skills and certainly cant be a reason you failed, again. Rather, it would seem to keep both the driver and agent safer, though. Some people, maybe even you, probably even apologize for the condition and smells in their cars. Possibly, did the agent ask permission to put the registration in the glove box, and you granted it. Possibly, were you talking to the other people standing near your car, and that 's why the employee asked if you knew them? Guesstimates are this office processes upwards of nearly 800 people a week.
I guess when you have one person, who repeatedly fails, the racism card might make them feel better. Maybe they should spend their time improving on their driving skills. After all, driving in the State of CT is a privilege, not a right to be handed out to people who are dangerous drivers.
