What an absolutely stunning building. The beauty. The ornate detail of the rooms. My visit was to celebrate my dad getting his 50-year Scottish Right cap so much of my focus was on him and I didnt get many photos; however, the auditorium, the library, the parlor, the banquet hall... just lovely.

I know nothing of the Scottish Rite masons so I can't tell you much. But what I can do is point out this amazingly beautiful building that I had the chance to see from the outside as I wandered around the exterior.

The building dates back to 1913 as a headquarters for local Masonic lodges (I'm not a mason). Built in the Neo Classical / Beaux Arts style, it was added to the Texas Register of Historic Places in 1978.

The marker in front reads, "Samuel P. Cochran (1855 - 1936), a prominent Mason and community leader, headed the committee that initiated plans for this building in 1902. Masonic officials assembled for the cornerstone laying in March 1907 and for the dedication ceremony in April 1913. Herb Miller Greene and J. B. Hubble, both Lodge members, designed the Neo-classical structure. A Dallas landmark, it is a showcase of fine materials and craftsmanship."

The Scottish Rite of Dallas is also responsible for the Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children that was founded in 1921.

Historic and great curb appeal ... used this as a venue for an event. The staff is the epitome of helpful and professional. The ball room and other room available to rent serve both the size and event needs ... also has a special historical feel in addition. The library has a warmth and eloquence you cant get at a generic venue.

If you are looking for a special venue that has that majestic feel, give this place a look.

Very nice venue. Speaking as a wedding vendor, we have delivered 3 wedding cakes to the venue. The parking is in the back. The walkway to the basement is slightly narrow but doable. The elevator goes up to the back of the room. Staffs were easy to work with and are super helpful.

The Dallas Scottish Rite was the perfect venue for our reception! We enjoyed working with the staff throughout the planning process and they were there for all of our questions. Great location, plenty of space, and the building is stunning. Would definitely recommend and urge you to book if you're considering! It was the perfect place for our wedding!
