*** This is just my personal experience, and I’m not saying it reflects how things usually are. I truly believe they do amazing work for the community and help so many people in situations like ours. However, I can’t help but feel hurt and let down by how things turned out for us.

I am deeply disappointed with Hope Ministries in Florence, KY. We were given the opportunity to receive Christmas gifts for our boys this year, something that brought us so much hope and joy during an incredibly hard time. Unfortunately, we were unable to attend an event they held due to unavoidable circumstances.

My husband was called into work last-minute, and as our sole income, we simply cannot afford to miss overtime. On top of that, my oldest son has severe autism and cannot handle environments with groups of people or loud sounds. Taking him to such an event would have been impossible. Despite explaining all of this to them when they called, they chose to revoke our gifts and exclude us from their shopping event.

After losing our home in October and enduring a year full of challenges, I never imagined we’d be punished for circumstances beyond our control. We’re doing our best to survive and provide for our children, and it hurts to see an organization meant to help families in need disregard our struggles so easily.

How is it fair that my kids lose their Christmas gifts because we couldn’t attend one event? Where is the compassion and understanding for families like ours?

***6 days until Christmas-no contact, no call backs or responses. I wish this was an over dramatic, miss communication thing but I genuinely believe it’s due to my oldest sons mental disabilities and I hope they get the same kindness in their time of need.

They are helpful but it is evident that none of them have been homeless or lived in a vehicle. I came for clothing in hopes of weather appropriate items like shorts/tank tops (since it's 100 degrees outside) and were given capris and thick textured hot shirts. I don't mean to be ungrateful but it did not help me. Most of the snacks I will not eat. Homeless people deserve better.

Absolutely amazing people! They helped my family when we were in need and welcomed us with open arms. They continue to help and spread the word of Jesus Christ, day in and day out. I would give them 10/5 stars if I could.

Was there when I needed it, an the help with a bunch of different needs, as food, clothing, and household toiletries an such. If they don't have it there they will give you the info of other places that can help out in other needs, like rent and utilities an such... ALL THE PLACES AS THESE organizations are a God send to so many different families its a real true miracle of the work they provide to our community...

They are super nice when they want to be so when people are in need they won't help them until 3 months I just don't understand anymore supposed to be a food pantry to help people in need and they won't help you

Hope ministries help me when no one else would I have custody of six of my grandkids and they was there for me I feel that God pointed me in their way they are such loving caring people they are truly children's of God I am so blessed to have them in my life and help me with Thanksgiving they help me with Christmas to see the smile on my grandkids face with such a joy and I am so blessed to have hope ministry in my life God bless you and keep up the good work cuz you are truly God's people I love you all God bless you.
