As a retiree in my 70s, I have been wearing hearing aids for about twenty years and was originally treated by a Madison Avenue audiologist and later by their Bayside office. My experience there was satisfactory, but when it came time for new hearing aids after putting my old ones through the washer and dryer, I decided to explore new options. I liked the reviews for Dr Winnie Feng-Gring whose office is within walking distance from my Flushing apartment, and so I made an appointment. My first impression of Dr Winnie was positive and has only become more so over the five years I have been treated by her.

After a thorough hearing test, Dr Winnie recommended certain hearing aids. I signed up at a price similar to my previous three hearing aids. Unlike my previous aids, however, Dr Winnie's aids came with a three year loss or damage warranty which I found particularly attractive, especially considering my past track record (One pair lost, another damaged beyond repair, another just not very good).

I have taken advantage of the warranty a couple of times. The first time I somehow managed to get a bit of dirt inside. Dr Winnie removed the protective shield and cleaned out the dirt. Another time I ripped the hearing aid off and threw it to the ground when taking off my covid mask. This second mishap occurred when I was upstate for an extended period without access to the warranty agreement which I believed had expired. I called the office and was assured by Doris, Dr Winnie's receptionist, that the warranty was still in effect. She then fit me in for an appointment the next time I was down. Each repair was performed with a smile.

I have also had to replace a wire a couple of times post-warranty. The fee was reasonable.

I recommend NY Audiology without reservation. The office is professionally run. Dr Winnie is intelligent, personable and caring. She is a calming breath of fresh air which is always appreciated but was especially so during the trying pandemic days. I only half kiddingly suggested that I derive some psychiatric benefits from my appointments.
