Great venue for a small event or celebration. The bar at the club makes an amazing whiskey version of an espresso martini that you have to try! The staff here are incredibly hospitable and make everyone feel like members even if just visiting.

DO NOT JOIN. the driving range is just dirt. The golf balls are 20 years old. They charge almost 700 bucks a month in dues and can’t even give us new range balls lmao. 15k initiation, they will ALWAYS send you wrong statements charging you an insane amount of money. NOBODY answers their phone when you call. It’s impossible to reach someone if you have a problem.

People in the pro shop are the only good people here.
Sales manager is a snake, will get you in and then dismiss you. Tell you lies on how you can “ pause your membership” whenever you would like. Then they say you can only do it once! And the dues for that is 250 bucks when you just want the gym / social when I was told it was like 100 bucks.

Go up the road to twin creeks and THAT IS A COUNTRY CLUB. Holy crap is it so much better.
Onion creek is a municipal course turned private. It’s brutal. What do they spend all their money on Half the carts are coming apart.

Amazing course that's always kept up better than a lot of courses in Austin.
Aside from the stellar 27 holes of golf, they have awesome food, great drink selection with a good local draft beer options.

Staff is always on point on service and are always attentive on your needs or requests.

Do not join here as a tennis member. Recently, the new ownership group Arcis and the head "tennis pro" Kelly Marshall decided to ruin the tennis courts by painting a million lines everywhere. The tennis courts are an absolute mess. Even though members voiced their opposition to pickle ball taking over the tennis courts, our voices were ignored. Onion Creek went ahead with trying to accommodate "all racquet sports" by littering the courts with pickle ball equipment and the final straw - adding permanent pickle ball lines to the tennis courts. Tennis players are not respected here. I'm playing at Grey Rock from now on.

This place is a complete waste of money. They take full advantage of being the only option south of Austin and add little to no value at all. I sincerely regret signing up for this membership out of principle. They consistently jack up the price and the facilities just seem to get worse. There is nothing about this place that represents an even decent golf club. If you are considering signing up, I would advise against it. Feel free to DM me if you want more insight

Don’t join. Where do I even begin? Think this falls squarely into the “you pay for what you get” as it’s relatively affordable in terms of country clubs. I have thought about cancelling my membership probably 5+ times since joining but just feel stuck given I live close by and there’s no alternatives (if there were, I would have 100% moved on by now). There’s a small group of golfers that get all the best tee times week over week and are prioritized by the club. You can’t get a morning tee time on the weekend if your life depended on it… even by logging on a few minutes before they go-live on multiple devices. If you love golfing in the blazing heat of the afternoon… then this place is for you. The kitchen can’t keep a cook for longer than 2-3 weeks so the menu, quality of food and staff are constantly rotating. One of the few highlights is the staff (golf staff is a solid group of guys, gym staff is lovely to chat with, and servers are very kind). Just read the comments from other people. I know members that refuse to eat/order anything outside of base dues because they feel taken advantage of and don’t want to give Arcis anymore money. The only thing this place has going for it is that’s it’s close to downtown and is semi-affordable in the country club world. If you moved this course another 30-45 minutes from downtown and it was run how it’s run, it would absolutely fail. Arcis takes advantage of you being locked in and it shows.
