The Dallas VA medical center causes mixed feelings for me. On one hand my primary care medical staff and radiology are absolutely fantastic and I trust them completely. However administration once again is failing. On January 3, 2025 I had an MRI of my left shoulder. My primary care team forwarded it to orthopedic but I haven’t heard a word from them. I try to call no one answers their damn phone.

Why does a specialty click have 14 working days to contact a patient about an appointment? This is another BS idea. Whatever happened to do your job? Another way the Dallas VA mistreats veterans.

The orthopedic clink that doesn’t answer their phones and get 14 days to contact the patient for an appointment t is bullshit. Every time I’ve dealt with the orthopedic clink it has been an effort in futility. The Dallas VA administration once again has failed. They do nothing but blow smoke up your ass. I’ve had nothing but issues with the North Texas VA medical system since moving here a year ago.

Enjoyed my visit at the VA visiting a friend, to see our veterans being taken care of was up lifting, not saying improvements not needed, but at least they are trying. Picked up fathers day gift there. So glad i went

Watching the way staff treats my father who risked his life for this county is absolutely nauseating. They take weeks to respond to anything, if you’re lucky. If you’re unlucky, they just never call you and hope you die off before they have to deal with another patient. Really sad that I (a regular citizen who did not fight for anyone’s rights) get better healthcare than my father, a Vietnam Veteran.

This is the seventh VA system I’ve used, and it’s by far the worst. They get you in for the first appointment pretty fast, but after that? Good luck. You’ll be waiting forever to hear anything back. Guess it’s fine—who even needs mental health care anyway?

My late father, Bruce Stewart, received care at the Dallas VA for years before he passed. During that time there have been many doctors, nurses, and other staff who showed him and the rest of our family kindness. Dr Z., Dr. Giphinga, Dr. Rivera and so many others were exceptional. The nurses who cared for him before he died, in CCU on the 5th floor, Bonita and Tina, were absolute angels. It was such a blessing to have a hospital we could trust with his care. I’ll never forget the kindness so many at the VA showed him. The pastor and Viola in Decedent Affairs were also incredible. The VA often gets a bad rap but it was such a blessing to our family.

Wanted to give an awesome dentist the praise he deserves. Dr. Perez worked tirelessly to take care of all my dental issues. I am not proud of how I failed to do my part through the years. The doctor worked with my schedule challenges and the quality of the work was not diminished in the least. I am so proud to smile now and I wanted to heap some praise on Dr. Perez. Thank you Dr. for giving me my smile back as a part of who I am. It has changed my life for the better. Thanks also to the VA for making this quality of dental expertise available to your patients. Bless you all and bless the USA đŸ‡ș🇾.

Just drive right on by. I was at a pain level 9 & my Dr. apparently decided to go AWOL. My nurse could not reach him by phone & he never called back.
My sweet and kind nurse and I are compiling a heavy report on him. I was waiting under my sheets for him. I never saw him for the rest of the time that I was there. 90% of the nursing staff really love helping and making đŸ‡ș🇾VETERAN'SđŸ‡šđŸ‡± feeling & getting better than when they walked in...
If I can sue him, I Will. About only 10% of the Doctors staff are corrupt in their
entern level heads đŸ€Ș. Please, I beg, and Implore you. JUST KEEP ON DRIVING, (REALLY, REALLY, REALLY FAST!!!!! I hated giving even a 1 star.

I’m giving the VA Hospital a 3 star rating. This place is like going to Big T Bizarre. You have employees of the hospital walking around like they’re not in a professional medical environment. I do know that per person every experience is different. But for me a proud Veteran of color things are crazy sometimes during my appointment visits. In the clinic I’m now assigned to it seems like there’s a lot of absences at times and you can hear and see them behind the counter moving in a confusing way and rushing. Some nurses are professional but many of them like to talk personal, politics, religion, and ask questions about your life. Some nurses are rude and work with an attitude. The primary doctors I’ve had and have now are just as sorry except for my first primary doctor. This doctor from clinic 14 is leaving “Good” I wish the Va would hire personnel who desires to be in the veterans healthcare system and who look forward to being at work. This doctor Gunner is almost like dr Johnson they work with that “ni&&:+ demeanor” the black attitude where you don’t love what you do, you work mildly aggressive, lazy, poor eye contact, not speaking with confidence, doing the minimum only to get by. But they look sharp and clean at work giving a false impression of caring and being about their work. It’s pathetic how things are at this healthcare workplace. The awful things you hear the employees talking about, sometimes about a veteran and or a co-worker. And they never correct those bad issues and habits. I guess we’re not important enough to be treated with dignity and respect. How bout we vote or protest for professional medical staff to come in and turn things around. Or would that be doing too much?
