We have had a TERRIBLE experience with Empire Today. The sales pitch was great but it all went downhill from there. The crew that did the actual installation took big chunks out of our floor boards and left many gaps between the carpet and the walls where you could see the concrete below. We were told they would replace the ruined floor boards and fix the carpet issues but the second crew didn't even bother to show up! We were then told that we would have a crew come between 8-10AM that next Saturday to fix the issues. One of the guys came 3 hours late and only patched the floor boards instead of replacing them and the guy that was going to fix the carpet didn't come until today. We tried to be patient and understanding but at this point I would never recommend Empire Today to anyone!

To give context to our appreciation of Empire's attentiveness & timeliness: The morning after hosting Thanksgiving dinner, we demolished 2.5 walls in the living room, and the flooring in both the living room and adjoining kitchen, along with stairs & a hallway. Goal was to be functioning well enough to host our usual Christmas events.
Having a flooring company visit In Home appealed to me, as the options & challenge of coordinating colors in two different rooms, let alone transitions to other areas was giving me a headache. ? Andres & Ben (Sales & Install Manager) took charge of our flooring project. We made a laminate floor selection (with a backup choice), and set an install date. We had the opportunity to review a few planks of our first choice in different locations, and different lighting, an ultimately went with our second choice, which gave us to increase light we were after, well it worked best with the transitions to other areas.
We were simultaneously coordinating new sheetrock, electrical, fireplace insert, cabinets, trim and painting, and ideally, the new floors would go down at the perfect point.
Ben, Andres & the install crew couldn't have been more accommodating. They kept in touch, answered questions & came up with solutions as we discovered a couple of additional needs (like trim in front of the new floor level fireplace insert.) We live in a 60-year-old home, with plenty of squeaks from the original hardwood flooring, and they did an awesome job in burying what we couldn't fix was screws, lol. Even the annoying low spot where our kitchen table sits was fixed so the chairs don't rock, haha.
We did most of the demo, but what remained (removal of the pool nose on the steps, and leveling, along with the installation of the stairs, floors & trim pieces) was accomplished in two days! ? A quick follow-up visit provided a custom cut piece from Ben for the fireplace trim.
The floors are still very new, but I have confidence and I could work out any issues, should they arise. After a breather from this project, we are considering extending project into one or two upstairs rooms! Thanks again, Andres & Ben & crew. We love the floors, and you helped de-stress the holiday schedule a ton!

Buyer beware, this company doesn't care about their customers. My sister purchased flooring for her whole house. Mark was her consultant and decided to split the house into two jobs. . this is a maybel 1200 sq ft home. . not big. she paid for it in full. . . told him she had reservations about doing that since all the work was not completed. he assured her everything was included and they just ran out of flooring. he has been putting her off for months now and has been telling her he is having a rough time, financial problems. . not her problem. . she notified the store and they just sent her back to him. . someone who now is trying to charge her to do the rest of her flooring. she has already paid for this in full. . this company doesn't seem to care about customers at all. only ripping them off!!!! the folks that came out and actually did the work on the rooms that were completed were excellent and were confused why they didn't do the whole job in the first place. Shame on them for not taking care of their customer and giving them the run around like this.

Contractors beware! Installers ruined our baseboards by damaging them and being careless with foam. Contracted Empire out for carpet in two basement finishes we have going on and when they were done we had to bring finish guys and painters back in to fix everything they wrecked. We tried reaching out to ask for a credit back to pay for the required repairs and they very obviously ignored us. Quick to collect our money but very slow on customer service/ accountability. Prices are no better than anywhere else so contractors: go somewhere else for flooring.

I should have know when I called to schedule an estimate and the woman made fun of my last name I should just move on. Against my better judgment however, I scheduled the estimate. They gave me a two hour time frame that they’d arrive. I set aside my afternoon and went to the property and waited two hours. When they didn’t show I called and was told that they tried reaching me 30 min ago via phone call and text and because I didn’t answer they moved on. I had my phone on me the entire time. I didn’t have a single missed call or text on my phone. No apology (clearly they called the wrong number and never bothered to come to the house). I was just offered an appointment on another day with another 2 hour wait. No thanks. Poor business practice. I’ll use my good judgment now and move on!

I had a great experience with Empire in the past. So I used them again just this past weekend. My empire rep was great, really great, but Empire itself sent one single installer to do the entire upstairs portion of my townhome. And two staircases. The installer himself was great. He was a hard worker and dedicated to the job. The job was just too big for one person. He arrived at 11:30am and got started. He estimated he'd be done at 6pm. I felt that was reasonable. That time came and went. I ran to get dinner and came back around 8pm and he had not even started either staircase. I stayed at the house until about 10:30pm and he still hadn't started the staircases as the upstairs was more challenging than he had anticipated. I informed him I had to leave to go get some sleep (house is empty and under reno). He estimated it would take him another three or so hours. Which meant he worked at my house into the wee hours of Sunday morning! The install was a one-day Saturday job (supposedly). He left the house and the driveway littered with staples, nails, and other debris. I mean, it was about 1am or 2am when he left the house so I'm sure cleaning wasn't a high priority for him. But I was so disappointed in the whole process. Why would you send a SINGLE installer? Last time I had carpet installed on a Saturday, four guys showed up and had it installed within hours. I do not think I will use Empire again for future installs. I cannot do a 14-15 hr install. That is not a way to operate your business if you want it to be successful. Again, the installer was great, but they really set him up to fail.
**Update: Empire did refund me $100 due to these issues, but I've inspected further I've noticed the carpet on my stairs was installed incorrectly. There's big gaps on the sides.

They installed the wrong floors, which made my time off of work a waste, they did a sloppy job on the base boards. So we had to redo a lot of them. The flooring that I ordered and that got installed a week later is beautiful and I love it. If I had gotten a discount for the inconvenience and the poor job on baseboards I would have given a higher rating.

Please do not go with this company! I had a new floor put in last year in my kitchen and before it was even a year old, nails are coming up through the planks! I’ve had my appointment changed 5 Times because they say there’s no one in my state to fix it! I had an appointment TODAY, and called 6 times trying to find out when they would be here, only to find out it’s pushed back another couple of weeks! And I was late to work because I waited on them. ( I work nights). Please save yourself the trouble!
